An evening w/friends

A few weeks ago I was w/a group of friends at the Mills house. The plan was to have as much fun as humanly possible...ok, that's not actually what they said when inviting me, but I'm pretty sure it was implied. Regardless of reason I feel that fun was had by all. I know speaking for myself that I rather enjoyed the evening, especially the whole "let's ride the four wheeler -- oops now we're muddy" part. Was also rather amused to see how persistent Charity and Beth were w/the whole mud thing.

Anyway, I just thought I'd give a shout out to the Mills -- thanks for the invite and the fun times! Here are some of the pics I got throughout the evening...enjoy!

A new chai

I was thinkin'...(hardeehar -- quit snickering!)

See, at this junction in life I'm approaching burnout, I can feel it. I've been dutifully working away on school work for almost three yrs. (interpret dutifully any way you'd like)and its all becoming blah. I'm loosing interest. I'm feeling listless -- lethargic -- lackadaisical.

Don't get me wrong. I haven't completely quit caring about everything.

I still very much care about my family and friends. I try to be a good daughter/sister/friend(don't always -- maybe even rarely -- succeed, but w/e). I enjoy hanging out, I enjoy being involved in my kids club(most days), and I even enjoy working...some. But I'm tired of classes. I just don't seem to care anymore.

I do care about my grades though, however I find myself squeezing the life out of my concern in order to nurture my disinterest.
My mind keeps yelling, "Why does it matter?!?" and "Why do you need this stuff?!?". I wish I could just push myself into being driven, but I'm lacking the drive...

Today I basked in the sunshine at a new coffee house. Mel suggested it, and the group agreed. Iris Bookcafe. Neat place. Quiet, friendly, artistic...I will be back. Thai pumpkin soup...and I got to try a soy chai at yet another place. Both were good. A very enjoyable afternoon. Fit my mood and lackadaisicalness.

Quote thats stuck in my head...

"Good, better, best...never let it rest -- until your good is better and your better is the best."

If only I lived this...

What Other Man

I never feel You far away,
When others leave I know You'll stay.
I hear You speak inside my heart,
It's then I'll know we'll never part.
You always give me everything,
And Your love has never left my side.
You've been there in my darkest night,
You're my strength when I want to hide.

[Chorus]
And what other man would give every thought He has?
Speak with love in what He says?
Lay down His all to set me free?
What other man, would give His life for me?

Only Your love for me will do,
I've known the thrill of loving You.
All of my dreams I hold inside,
I'll give them to You to realize,
You always give me everything,
And Your love has never left my side.
You've been there in my darkest night,
You're my strength when I want to hide.

[Chorus]

You built me a wall,
To keep me from harm.
When life is cold,
He'll keep me warm.

[Chorus]
